About Us
The 128CM Memorial Foundation was created in honor of those lives that were tragically cut short on March 22nd, 2009 in a plane accident in Butte, Montana. The name of the fund, pronounced “1-2-8-Charlie-Mike”, comes from the tail number of the Pilatus airplane that was piloted by Ellison “Air Bud” Summerfield.

The purpose of the fund is to raise scholarship monies to be awarded to those individuals who display outstanding characteristics and dedication similar to those of the Ching, Jacobson, and Pullen families who were on board. In the blink of an eye, Brent, Kristen, Hailey, Caleb, Erin, Amy, Taylor, Ava, Jude, Mike, Vanessa, Sydney, Christopher, and “Air Bud”, who are represented by the 14 stars in our foundation’s logo, were lost. Our aim is to honor their loss and remember them by displaying the giving qualities that they all possessed.
