REDLANDS, CA (December 5, 2018) –The 33rd Annual Death Valley Golf Classic will take place on Friday, January 25th, 2019 in Death Valley at Furnace Creek. This year’s Classic has been expanded to include a 50-mile road biking journey and picturesque hiking experience. The event that began 33 years ago as a fun way for friends to get together for golf in an unusual location has grown to become an annual “must do!”

Nearly 10 years ago, the tournament was re-dedicated as the organizers chose to create the 128CM Memorial Foundation to honor the lives of 14 members of the Ching, Jacobson and Pullen families that were tragically lost in a devastating plane crash in Butte, Montana. Since that time, the tournament has been committed to celebrating their memories by raising funds to help make private education more accessible for students in need of financial assistance. Over the years the Foundation has given back over $485,000 for this purpose.

“I had the good fortune to be the beneficiary of an anonymous donor’s scholarship to a Christian academy. My promise to my Principal at that time was that I would “pay it back” given the opportunity and if the circumstances of my life made it possible. Paying back a debt by paying it forward is what this is all about.” said Bud Feldkamp, the tournament’s founder and 128CM board member. “It’s more than just playing golf…it’s a tournament for the students. It’s the unique location and the important cause that make this tournament so special.”

The uncommon venue and important mission of the Death Valley Classic have attracted the attention of many generous sponsors including major sponsors: South Point Hotel and Casino, Beall Financial & Insurance Services, Bob & Candi Keeney, David & Nid Moody, Jim & Debbi Guthrie, Loma Linda School of Medicine, Loma Linda University Health and Bob & Roberta Peterson. Additional sponsorships are still available.

For participation information, registration or to be a sponsor, please email: Registration deadline is January 10, 2019. Hotel accommodations are available at The Ranch and The Inn at Furnace Creek and The Oasis at Death Valley. Discounted rates may be available for reservations made prior to December 25, 2018.
